RIM could not possibly fulfill our mission without many other groups. Everyone has a role to play, and it takes all of us playing our part to really make a difference in the lives of our students! Below are links to our partners, and a brief description of the role they play to help grow and sustain our robotics community.
MaineFIRST is a resource for anyone seeking to find their local FIRST® Robotics team. This site is updated annually to include any new FRC team and contact information.
Manufacturers Association of Maine
The Manufacturers Association of Maine (MAMe) is a non-profit “membership organization committed to supporting, promoting and growing manufacturing throughout the state.” RIM partners with MAMe and actively pursues cost-sharing ideas in order to reduce overhead for both non-profits.
New England FIRST is FIRST® Robotic’s operational partner through the six New England states. They work to advance FIRST’s mission by “providing accessible, innovative robotics programs that motivate young people to pursue education and career opportunities in science, technology, engineering, and math, while building self-confidence, knowledge, and life skills.”
Pine Tree District FIRST® Robotics Competition
Each year, 40 teams meet up to test their skills in hopes of qualifying for FIRST® District Championship! This competition, typically held at the Colisee in Lewiston, is known as the Pine Tree District. You can read details about the event at the link below.
VEX® Robotics Competitions are designed by the Robotics Education and Competition Foundation (REC). Their website contains a wealth of resources for teams interested in starting a team. It’s also where the season schedule is posted, and where teams go to register for events!
FIRST® inspires young people to be science and technology leaders and innovators by engaging them in exciting mentor-based programs that build science, engineering, and technology skills, that inspire innovation, and that foster well-rounded life capabilities including self-confidence, communication, and leadership.
