Our mission is to inspire youth to gain a new perspective on science and technology by providing opportunities and resources for robotics programs.
Founded in 2012, the Robotics Institute of Maine (RIM) is a 501(c)(3) organization run entirely by volunteers. Our goal is to ignite a passion in Maine students to consider STEM-based careers through the development of educational robotics programs.
We work with students and coaches in the FIRST® LEGO League (FLL), FIRST® Tech Challenge (FTC), Vex®V5 and FIRST® Robotics Competition (FRC) to ensure that every student in every corner of Maine has the opportunity to participate, learn, and grow. Every year, RIM works directly with thousands of students, as well as hundreds of teachers, mentors, and volunteers to expose students from all across the state to a hands-on STEM education.

We provide funding and support to schools and robotics teams to encourage new robotics programs and sustain current ones. Robotics continues to grow because of the generous support from Maine-based companies and grants for RIM.
